Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This privacy policy explains how Global Mackerel ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects personal data submitted through globalmackerel.com. We operate this website as a B2B information and lead generation platform for the frozen mackerel trade. We do not sell consumer goods and do not knowingly collect data from individuals who are not acting in a professional capacity.
1. What data we collect
We collect personal data only when you actively submit it through one of the two forms on this website:
- Quote request form (/rfq) — name, company name, email address, phone number, country, and the product specification details you enter (species, format, volume, destination port, incoterm, message).
- Supplier profile form (/suppliers) — name, company name, email address, country of production, species produced, annual volume, certifications held, current export markets, and any additional details you provide in the message field.
We do not use cookies for tracking or analytics. We do not deploy any third-party tracking scripts. Cloudflare Web Analytics is active on this site at the CDN level — it collects aggregate, anonymised traffic data and does not set cookies or track individual users across sessions.
2. How we use your data
Data submitted through the quote request form is used exclusively to respond to your inquiry — to provide a CIF or FOB price indication, ask clarifying questions about your specification, or refer you to an appropriate product page. We do not add form submitters to marketing lists without explicit consent.
Data submitted through the supplier profile form is used to evaluate whether your production profile matches an active buyer requirement in our network and to contact you with relevant sourcing enquiries. We do not share supplier profile data with third parties outside our direct commercial relationships.
The legal basis for processing this data is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries submitted voluntarily through our website.
3. How we store and protect your data
Form submissions are transmitted via HTTPS to a Cloudflare Pages Function and forwarded by email to our commercial team. We do not operate a customer relationship management database accessible via this website. Emails containing submitted form data are retained in our email system and subject to the retention and security policies of that system. We take reasonable technical precautions to protect data in transit and at rest.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We do not share personal data with advertising networks. In the course of a commercial transaction, we may share your specification details with a processing plant or exporter in order to obtain a price indication — this sharing is limited to what is necessary to respond to your inquiry and is understood to be part of the B2B quotation process.
5. Your rights
If you are based in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under GDPR or UK GDPR including the right to access, correct or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Retention
We retain data submitted through our forms for as long as is reasonably necessary to conduct the business inquiry for which it was submitted — typically up to 24 months for quote requests and up to 36 months for supplier profiles, unless you request earlier deletion.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent revision. Continued use of this website after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
8. Contact
For questions about this privacy policy or to exercise your data rights, contact us via the contact page or by email at the address listed there.
